THE HOME SCHOOL

Home school on a Budget

Here at the home school we understand that most home educating families have had to sacrifice at least one wage packet to enable then to teach their children at home, so in this section of the magazine we are going to look at some inexpensive but very effective ideas, tips and resources that can help take the pressure off.

Unlike the traditional school system, home school allows you to teach your child how and when you like, this means you are not tied down to timetables or any curriculum, so what lessons you teach are decided by you and as long as your child is receiving an education, the order, lesson preferences and time scale, is completely your decision. This kind of learning freedom can enable a much wider scope of education than any typical school and can fit around your lifestyle.

The lessons you choose can encompass yours and your child's interests and personalities and with the freedom of time you don't have to wake up early every morning to complete the mad school run and have the nightmare of fitting in holidays and day trips around the school term timetable. So don't be pressured in to feeling that you have to compete with the schools in your area, providing costly and often time consuming lesson plans with goals and objectives to impress the strictest of ofsted inspectors, all this will do is deplete your already dwindling budget and waste precious time that you could be spending with your children doing something far more productive instead.

So cast off those worries and scares about having to come up with education plans to impress Alan Sugar and remember although we may not all have access to latest whiteboard technology, teaching at home can still be enriching and stimulating and with these handy links above,  providing a great education need not rely on a healthy bank balance.
